“Arynn has been a Girl Scout for five years. Over the past two years, she has completed almost 60 badges in the Brownie program, which is very difficult. In 2007, she raised money and walked for women’s breast cancer. In 2008, she raised money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund—even donating her savings from her allowance—and did a 3K walk for the cause. Arynn has also participated in a variety of other charity events, including the Joshua Kahan Fund’s ‘Let’s Lick Leukemia.’ She partners with her troop and local high school to prepare Thanksgiving care packages and baby bundles for needy families and gives her allowance to an annual youth partnership that provides books and eyeglasses for inner-city kids. I am so proud of her; Arynn is my hero.”
